We will begin our time together at an innovative organic farm, the first of its kind in the area. Our hosts at Yuxi Manor will treat us to a traditional Chinese lunch while we enjoy spectacular views of Lake Fuxian.
Our group will then move on to a private tour of the farm’s fragrance and medicinal herb gardens, led by an expert guide who will offer insights into the organic certification process, as well as various plants’ cycles, requirements, uses and applications. We will visit the farm’s exhibit center for added insights to the growing process.

9:30-15:30 YUNNAN NATIONALITIES VILLAGE
On our second day takes us to a living history site just south of vibrant Kunming City, the gateway to the Silk Road. The Yunnan Nationalities Village is a sprawling 200-acre park located between Dianchi Lake, the area’s largest, and the Western Mountains Forest Reserve. The Park is an ongoing cultural preservation initiative that recreates 25 indigenous ethnic communities for an authentic and richly detailed overview of Yunnan’s diverse heritages and ways of life.
Our private tour of the Park will feature its main areas of interest: the Dai, Yi, and Bai Villages, each spotlighting centuries-old ethnic traditions. The afternoon will include lunch at a local indigenous restaurant. Our experience will provide a brief but immersive introduction to Yunnan’s extraordinary interwoven cultural legacy.
